The Oppo A83 is a device primarily for the entry level. As such, he puts forward a modest technical sheet of which here are the details:

Unlike the Oppo A75, released at the same time on the Chinese market, the A83 does not have a fingerprint scanner on the back. The company relies entirely on facial recognition now, which takes the same shape as the Face Unlock of OnePlus 5T.

A major change

This change is not trivial, especially on the entry level. While this particular range began to naturally accommodate fingerprint scanners, we can see a step back: Face Unlock does not secure its smartphone as well and does not give access to securing PayPal accounts and others.

However, this facial recognition is extremely fast. By scanning 128 particular features on a face, Oppo promises unlocking in 0.18 seconds. For comparison, the Face Unlock soon available on OnePlus 5 is the fastest currently with 0.4 seconds. As always, we will wait to establish the security of the solution before applauding.

The Oppo A83 is available now in China at a price of 1399 yuan (about 180 euros). We have no information on a possible French release for the moment
